Hindustan Zinc Ltd

Our office is at A 236/1 in the NGO-A-Colony area of Tirunelveli. It is a quiet enough spot most days. Being down here in Tamil Nadu, we are a bit of a distance from the main offices in the north, but the work we do is just as important. The office is a regular place where we manage the local side of things for Hindustan Zinc Ltd. There are a few of us working here, mostly locals who have lived in Tirunelveli their whole lives. The building isn't anything to brag about, just a standard place with enough room for our desks and some storage boxes stacked in the corner. We deal with the day-to-day tasks that come our way. Sometimes things get busy with phone calls, other times it is a bit slow and we just catch up on filing. We spend a lot of time looking at spreadsheets and making sure everything matches up. The neighborhood is mostly houses, so it’s a calm place to work compared to a factory. We try to keep things organized, even if the filing cabinets are getting a bit full and the drawers stick sometimes. You won't find any shiny brochures or marketing talk here. It is just people doing their jobs. It gets very hot most of the year, so we keep the windows shut and the air units running. We have been here for years and know everyone around the colony.
