Electrical Supervisor

Out here in Melapalayam, life moves at its own pace. I am an electrical supervisor and I run things from 19, Bangalappa Nager 5th Street. It is a regular neighborhood in Tirunelveli and most of the people around here know what I do. My job is mostly about making sure that the electrical work on local projects is done the right way. I am not much for sitting in an office all day, so you will usually find me out at a site somewhere in the 627005 pin code area. Tamil Nadu can be quite warm, so being on a construction site all day is hard work, but it is what I have always done. I look at a lot of wires and circuit breakers every single day. It is a lot of responsibility to make sure everything is safe for the people who will live in these houses later on. I don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just show up, look at the plans, and make sure the wires go where they are supposed to go. Sometimes there are delays or we run out of a certain type of cable, but we always figure it out. It is just a practical business for local people. I spend quite a lot of time talking to the house owners and explaining why we need to move a switch or put in a different kind of fuse. It's just a lot of small details that add up. Most evenings I just want to sit down and rest my legs after being on the move since morning.
