Agathiyar Departmental Store

Agathiyar Departmental Store is over at 804/5 in Sasthiri Nagar. It’s a neighborhood spot where people from the nearby houses come to get what they need. We aren't a big supermarket chain or anything like that. We are just a local store. The space is filled with shelves and we try to pack in as much as we can so people have choices. It gets a bit tight in the aisles sometimes, but nobody seems to mind much. We spend our days restocking the shelves and talking to the people who walk in. Most of them are our neighbors, so we know their names and what they usually buy. It’s a nice way to work. We don't have any fancy uniforms or big advertising budgets. We just put a sign out front and keep the door open. Sasthiri Nagar is a decent place to be. It’s mostly families around here. We open early so people can grab things before they head to work, and we stay open late enough for the evening crowd. Sometimes the kids come in after school for snacks. It’s a simple business. We just try to keep the shelves full and the floor clean. There’s no big mission statement or anything. We just sell things that people need for their homes and try to be helpful when someone asks where something is. It’s a long day but it feels good to be part of the street.
