A M Rice Mill

A M Rice Mill is located at 31 Kop Street right on the Kasetheymilath Road in Pettai. It is a busy corner and there is always something going on outside our doors. The mill stays busy through most of the seasons. We have been working out of this building in Pettai for a long time now and the locals know the spot. The street is a bit narrow so when the trucks come to drop off the bags it can get a little tight for traffic. Inside it is mostly just the machines and the storage space for the finished rice. We spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment because the dust from the husks gets into every little corner. It’s hard work and your clothes are usually covered in grit by the end of the shift. We don’t really do anything besides the milling. Farmers bring the grain and we process it for them. Sometimes we have a bit of a wait if the dryer is full. The building at 31 Kop Street isn't much to look at from the outside but it gets the job done. We don't use any fancy talk here. We just weigh the bags, run the machines, and make sure the rice comes out clean. It is a basic setup but it has served us well over the years. We take pride in just doing the work day in and day out without any fuss.
