Viji Travels

If you look right across from the petrol bunk near the Iti in Tiruverambur, that’s where you’ll find Viji Travels. Being right there by the bunk is handy because we’re always filling up tanks before heading out. The traffic in this part of Trichy can get a bit wild, especially when the students are moving around or people are heading home from work. It’s a loud spot, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. Inside the office, it’s mostly just calendars on the wall and a couple of chairs for people to wait. We spend a lot of our time looking at maps or just chatting with the drivers about which roads are under repair this week. There’s always a breeze coming through the door, which helps when the heat starts to pick up in the afternoon. People stop by on their way to the petrol station just to ask for directions or see if we have a car free for the weekend. We don’t do anything too complicated, just handle the bookings and make sure the drivers know where they’re going. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here in the 620013 area. Sometimes the rain makes the yard a bit muddy, but we just wash the tires and keep moving. It’s steady work and we like being part of the neighborhood here near Thiurverambur. We just keep the door open and wait to see who needs a lift.
