You can find us at 87 A North Andar Street. Vijay Books And Music Center has been here for a good while. The shelves are pretty packed with all sorts of things, from school books to local music. It isn't the most organized place in the world, to be honest. There are stacks of paper and old tapes tucked into corners. I like the smell of the old books though. People come in looking for something specific and sometimes they end up staying for an hour just browsing. North Andar Street is a narrow one, so it can be a bit tight when deliveries arrive or when the street gets crowded. We don't have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly, so sometimes I have to go hunting for a book a customer wants. It's a bit of a maze back there. We have some chairs if you want to sit and look through a magazine for a bit. We don't do big sales or loud advertising. People just know we are here. Sometimes the music we play is a bit loud, but the neighbors don't seem to mind too much since they know us well. It’s just a local shop for people who still like physical books and music you can hold in your hand. 87 A is a small space but it’s full of interesting things. We just enjoy being part of the street and talking to anyone who walks in.
