About Veejay Plastic – Shipping in Tiruchirappalli
If you ever come down to 67 Chinthamani Bazaar, you’ll see how crowded the street gets on a normal Tuesday. Veejay Plastic is right in the middle of all that chaos, tucked between a few other shops. It’s a small space, really, but we manage to pack a lot of stuff onto the shelves and even into the rafters. Most days, the street is so full of people and vegetable carts that it’s hard to even walk past our front door. We’ve been in this spot for years, and the walls are starting to show their age a bit. There’s always someone popping their head in to ask about a specific bucket or a roll of plastic sheeting. I usually spend the first part of the morning rearranging the stock because things always get moved around by the end of the previous day. It’s not a quiet job at all. You hear the vendors shouting outside and the scooters beeping constantly at the intersection. Sometimes I think about how much plastic we move through here, and it’s quite a lot for such a tiny shop. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us doing the heavy lifting and talking to the regulars who have been coming here for a decade. The light in the back is a bit dim, so we do most of our work near the front where the sun hits. It’s a simple way to earn a living.
