You can find us up on the first floor at P 16, along the 2nd Cross in Thillai Nagar West Extension. Being in Thillai Nagar means it is always busy outside with people shopping or going to the clinics. Our office is up a narrow set of stairs. It is a plain room with a few desks and some cupboards for the files. We have been in this part of Trichy for a while now. Most days are spent looking over the chit books and making sure the collections are noted down correctly. We don't have much in the way of decor, just the essentials for running a small chit business. The windows look out onto the street, so we see everyone passing by below. It can get a bit loud during the peak hours. Our members are usually local shopkeepers or residents from the nearby streets who come in to pay their monthly amounts. We drink a lot of coffee while we work through the accounts. It is just us doing the daily tasks of running auctions and keeping the ledger updated. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window frame when it is heavy, but we have got a bucket for that. It is a practical place for practical work. We know the routines of the neighborhood well. People stop by to chat even when they don't have a payment due. It is a regular neighborhood office.
