Sthriyas Milk Producers And Farmers Value Added Products Association

Our association is located at Plot No. 88 in Nowbha Nagar, which is over in Adavathur. We’re specifically in the Pallakadu Post area, out by Somarasampattai near Tiruchirappalli. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but that’s where the farmers and the milk are. We focus on milk and value-added products. It’s a group of us working together. The office isn't anything special, just a place where we can meet and organize things. Working with milk means early mornings and a lot of checking on temperatures and quality. It’s a very practical job. We don't have time for big marketing slogans or sounding important. We’re mostly concerned with the daily collection and making sure the farmers get a fair deal for what they produce. Sometimes the roads out here are a bit rough, especially after the monsoon, but we manage to get things moved. We’ve been part of this community in Trichy for a while. Everyone here knows the work is hard, but it's what we know how to do. We don't use fancy equipment unless we really need it. Most of our work is done by hand and with simple tools. It’s just a group of local people trying to make a living and help the local farmers stay in business. It's plain and simple. There aren't many bells and whistles to what we do here.
