Ar Cricket Accademy

Our academy is based at C-9 Maha Laxmi Apartment on Tiruvalluvar street in Srirangam. Ar Cricket Accademy is really just a bunch of us who love the game and want to see the local kids play it right. We use the apartment as a place to store all the heavy gear like the batting pads, helmets, and bags of leather balls. It is usually a bit of a mess in there because there is always some equipment that needs fixing or cleaning. Srirangam is a great neighborhood for this because every kid you meet is obsessed with cricket. We spend most of our mornings and late afternoons out on the local grounds. It gets incredibly hot and we all go home covered in red dust, but that is just part of playing in this part of the country. We do not have any of those expensive training gadgets or video analysis tools. We just stand there in the sun and watch the kids bowl and bat, giving them pointers on their stance or their grip. It is very basic, old-school coaching. Sometimes we have to spend an hour just clearing rocks off the dirt pitch before we can even start. The parents often hang around the edges of the field to watch the practice. We have been doing this for a few years now. The apartment is just our staging area. It is a simple life focused on the sport.
