Sivasakthi Kalai Kuzhu

We are based out in Thuraiyur, right on Chittiraipatti Road at number 1077. If you are coming from the Musri Link Road, we are near the Madhurapuri area. It’s a quiet part of the Trichy district, but we keep things busy here with our art group. Sivasakthi Kalai Kuzhu is really just about the local culture and performing for the people around here. We don't have a big fancy studio or anything like that. Most of our practice happens in simple spaces or even outdoors when the weather allows for it. We have been doing this for quite some time, and most people in the neighborhood know who we are. We don't spend money on big ads or professional websites. We just rely on word of mouth and the fact that we’ve been part of this community for years. When there is a local festival or a function, we are usually there. It’s hard work, especially the travel to different villages, but it’s what we do. We don't talk about 'excellence' or 'being the best,' we just focus on keeping the traditions alive and making sure our performers are ready. It’s a simple life, and we like it that way. If you walk past our place, you might hear us practicing or see us loading up for a show. We’re just local people doing something we care about. We spend a lot of time teaching the younger ones too, so the art doesn't get forgotten. It takes a lot of patience to get everything right, but we don't mind.
