Down at No. 1 Singarathope, inside the Jai Complex, you’ll find us at Thambu Raj Shoe Co. We are located at T- 75/7, which is basically a small shop filled to the ceiling with boxes of shoes. It’s a bit cramped in here, to be honest. There’s barely enough room for more than a few people at a time, but we make it work. We’ve been selling footwear in this area for quite a while. Singarathope is always crowded with shoppers and other businesses, so there’s a lot of noise and people passing by our door. We spend our days helping people find the right size or showing them the different styles we have in stock. The leather smell is something you get used to after about five minutes. We aren't a big chain store with bright lights and fancy displays. It’s just us, the shelves, and the customers who come in looking for something sturdy to wear. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit disorganized when we have a busy afternoon, and we have to spend the evening putting everything back in its place. We know most of the regulars by name. It’s a local business through and through. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes by. It’s a simple life, selling one pair of shoes at a time. The Jai Complex has been our home for years, and we’ve seen many shops come and go while we stayed right here.
