S S Ahamed & Co. has been doing business at No:143/57 on Big Bazaar Street for a very long time. This street is one of the most crowded and noisy places you can imagine. There are always people, carts, and vehicles moving around outside. Our building is quite old and has high ceilings, which helps a bit with the heat. We deal in wholesale spices and other dry goods. You can smell the cloves and cinnamon from the sidewalk. Inside, it’s mostly stacks of burlap sacks piled high. We don't have a proper showroom. People just come in, tell us what they need, and we get it from the back. We have a few old wooden desks where we handle the accounts. It’s not a very organized-looking place, but we have our own system. Most of our workers have been with us for many years and they know exactly where everything is kept. We don't spend any time on marketing or trying to look corporate. Our reputation on Big Bazaar Street is what keeps us going. Sometimes the rain makes the street a muddy mess, but the business never stops. We deal with traders from all the nearby towns. It’s a lot of shouting and heavy lifting, but that’s just how it is here. We are just a local company doing what we’ve done for many generations.
