Our office is at 1926, Sakthi Vinayagar Street in Vilandi, which is near the Andimadam Post. It’s in the Ariyalur and Perambalur area. The full name is Read Education Economic And Alternativedevelopment Foundation, but we usually just tell people we’re the ones on Sakthi Vinayagar Street. We focus on a lot of different things like helping kids with school and working on local economic stuff. Since we’re in a more rural part of the state, there’s always something that needs attention. We aren't some big city organization. We live right here in the village. The office is pretty basic, just a few tables and some shelves with books and papers. It can get a bit dusty with the road right there, but we don't mind. We spend a lot of time just talking to folks who stop by with questions about their farms or their children's education. We don't have a lot of money to throw around, so we just do what we can with what we have. It’s not a polished operation. Sometimes we’re late to open because someone had a problem at home, but we always get the work done eventually. We aren't trying to impress anyone with fancy talk. We just want to help our neighbors find better ways to get by. It’s just life in Vilandi, and we’re glad to be a part of it.
