Ramesh Hardwares

Ramesh Hardwares is located at 75, Melapulliyur Road. It’s a typical hardware store where you’ll find piles of different items tucked into every corner. We’ve got shelves full of nails, tools, and all sorts of bits and pieces that people need for their homes. The shop isn’t very large, so we have to be clever about how we stack things. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find a specific bolt or a particular wrench, but we usually know where everything is hidden. The street outside can get quite narrow and busy during the morning hours. We see a lot of the same faces coming in, mostly local builders and guys trying to fix something that broke in their kitchen. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory; we just keep a ledger and try to stay on top of what’s running low. It’s dusty work and our hands are rarely clean. We like the rhythm of the shop, though. Someone comes in with a problem, and we look through the bins until we find the right part to fix it. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just open the shutters, sweep the front, and start the day. It’s been this way for a long time, and we don’t see much reason to change it. Just a local shop on a local road doing what we can for the neighbors.
