Om Sri Saravanabhava Call Taxi & Travels

We are based in Palakarai, specifically at No 15. The Kaveri Theatre is the main landmark near us. Most people know the theatre, so they find us pretty easily. Om Sri Saravanabhava Call Taxi & Travels has been a part of this neighborhood for quite some time. Palakarai is always buzzing with people and vehicles. Our office isn't much to look at, just a place to coordinate the taxis. We have a small bench outside where the drivers sit and chat when they aren't on a trip. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the ceiling fan is always on full speed. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that. We keep a logbook to track the kilometers and the fuel. It’s a very hands-on job. Sometimes a customer calls late at night and we have to scramble to find a driver who is awake. That’s just part of the travel business. We like being near the theatre because there’s always something happening. The street food around here is also great. We aren't some big corporate chain. We are just local people providing rides to other local people. It’s a straightforward life and we are happy with it. We keep a small radio on the desk to listen to some music or the news while we work. It fills the room a bit. Sometimes we have to deal with flat tires or engine troubles, but we just handle it. That is how it goes.
