I’ve been running this office here in General Bazaar for a while now. Most people know the spot because we are right near the General Bazaar Masjid and the Uzhavar Chandhai market. It gets pretty busy around here, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to the market to get their things. My office is at New No.82, which used to be Old No. 112, so sometimes people get a bit confused with the numbers on the door. I spend most of my days looking at tax papers, audit files, and balance sheets. It isn’t glamorous work, but it is important for the folks in Trichy who need their accounts sorted out properly. The fan hums in the background while I work through piles of documents. Sometimes the noise from the street drifts in, but you get used to it after a few years. People drop by with their folders, and we sit down to go over things one by one. I don’t have a big fancy reception or anything like that. It’s just me and the work. I try to keep things straightforward so there isn’t any confusion about the filing or the deadlines. The local area has changed a bit over the years, but the way we handle the books stays pretty much the same.
