Kauvery Hospital

This branch is over on Royal Road in the Cantonment area. It’s a bit different from the other busy parts of town, but we still stay pretty occupied. Most of us here have been working in this building for years. You get used to the sounds of the machines and the smell of the cleaning supplies. It’s just a normal hospital setup. We have different departments spread out across the floors. The staff usually eats lunch in shifts because there's always someone coming in through the front doors. No. 6 Royal Road is easy enough to find if you're familiar with the Cantonment. We see people coming in for all sorts of reasons, sometimes just for a quick test and other times for longer stays. It’s a practical place. We don’t go in for anything too decorative; it’s mostly just white walls and tile floors that get mopped a dozen times a day. We keep the files organized as best we can. Sometimes the wait times are longer than we'd like, but that's just how it goes in a place like this. The nights are quieter, but the lights never really go out. We just keep moving, looking at charts, talking to families, and doing the basic tasks that keep a hospital functioning. It’s steady work and we’re right here if anyone from the neighborhood needs us. We spend time making sure the oxygen tanks are filled and the beds are ready for the next patient. It’s just what we do every single day.
