Karthick & Company

Karthick & Company is tucked away at 266, Voc Street in Ponmalaipatti. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here if you aren't from this part of town, but the street is usually lively. Our building is a simple one, nothing too flashy on the outside or the inside. We mostly deal with distribution and handling various goods that come through this area. The office inside has a few desks and some old metal cupboards where we keep all the records. It’s often quite noisy with the sound of trucks passing by outside on Voc Street. We have a small group of people working here, and most of us have been together for years. We usually have tea together in the afternoon when the main work is done. It’s not the kind of place with a lobby or a receptionist; you just walk in and someone will be there at a desk. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers and trying to figure out where the latest shipment is. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise, but it keeps us cool enough. We just focus on getting the day's tasks finished so we can head home to our families. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it seem like more than it is.
