Hassim Ari Travels is located at 77 Madurai Road in Palakarai. It’s a busy stretch of road, so there is never a dull moment. We have been here for a good while. The office is simple and practical. We don’t have any fancy decorations, just the essentials like a table, some chairs, and a phone. Being in Palakkarai means we see a lot of different people every day. We handle all sorts of travel requests. Sometimes it’s just a short trip across town, other times it’s a long journey. I usually spend my time checking the vehicle schedules and talking to the drivers. The Madurai Road traffic can be loud, but you stop noticing it after a few weeks. We have a small sink in the back to wash up and a cupboard for our files. My brother helps me with the accounts on the weekends. We don't use any high-tech software. We just write everything down in big registers. It feels more reliable that way. We aren't looking to expand into some massive company. We just want to keep things running smoothly right here. People in the area know us as a dependable local spot. That’s enough for us. Sometimes the mosquitoes get a bit much in the evenings, so we light a coil. We have an old calendar with pictures of temples that we haven't changed in years. It’s just how we like to work. We just keep the door open for anyone to walk in.
