Dev Masalas

Dev Masalas is located at Plot No- 63 on Gandhi Road in Srirangam. We have been working out of this spot for quite some time now. It is a busy street and there is always something going on outside our doors. Inside, we mostly spend our time with the spice grinders. It’s a noisy job and the dust gets everywhere, even if you try to keep it contained. We don't have a big team or fancy equipment. It is just a few of us making sure the work gets done. My cousin helps me out on the busy days when the orders pile up. Srirangam is a good place to be, but the humidity can be a bit much for the powders sometimes. We have to be careful with the storage. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks or have a big sign out front. People just know we are here at Plot 63. We start early in the morning before it gets too hot. By the time the afternoon sun hits Gandhi Road, we are usually halfway through our work. We take a break for tea and then get back to it. It’s not a complicated business. We just take the raw spices and process them like everyone else does. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just want to sell our stuff and make enough to keep the machines running for another year.
