Bismi Stores

I spend most of my day at Plot No. 21 on Madurai Main Road. Bismi Stores is right here at Bangla Medu, very close to the bus stop. People stop by while waiting for their bus or on their way home. It’s a busy spot. We’ve been here for a while now. The shelves have all sorts of things people need every day. Sometimes it gets crowded in the mornings when everyone is rushing. I try to keep things organized but it’s hard when boxes are coming in. We see the same faces every week. Old men coming for their newspapers or kids looking for snacks after school. The traffic on Madurai Main Road is always loud, but you get used to it. My family helps out too. We aren't doing anything fancy here. Just selling groceries and household stuff. The shop is small but it holds a lot. If someone can't find something, they just ask. I know where everything is, mostly. Sometimes we run out of milk early. It happens. We just try to keep the basics in stock so neighbors don't have to go far. It's a simple life running a store like this. No big office or computers everywhere. Just a counter and some shelves. People talk about their day while I bag their things. That's how it goes at Bismi Stores. The heat can be tough in the afternoons but the fan helps. We open early and close when the street gets quiet for the night.
