Beauty Leathers

Our place, Beauty Leathers, is located at 105 on Perambur High Road. Being in Perambur means there is always a lot of traffic and noise outside the windows, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of the horns and the buses passing by. Inside, it’s a bit different. There is that heavy smell of leather that hits you as soon as you walk through the door. We have rolls of material stacked against the walls and various tools lying around on the workbenches. It’s not a polished retail store; it’s more of a workshop where we actually handle the goods. We spend our hours checking the quality of the hides and making sure everything is stored properly so it doesn’t get damaged by the heat. Some of the machines we use are pretty old, but they still work perfectly fine for what we need. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to handle social media. Usually, it’s just one of us sitting at a wooden desk near the front, handling whoever walks in or calls. The floor gets dusty with bits of scrap and thread, so we sweep it out every evening before we lock up. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We don’t make a big fuss about things. We just stay here on the high road and do the work that needs doing. It is a simple life for us.
