Arul Hospital

Vannarapettai has that old feel to it, and being at No. 6 in Puthur puts us right in the middle of everything. Arul Hospital has been part of this community for a long time now. It’s a plain building, and we don't spend much on making it look like a hotel. We care more about having clean sheets and making sure the medicine cabinets are stocked. The staff here are mostly local people who have been with us for years. We know the shortcuts around Puthur and which tea stall has the best snacks in the afternoon. Inside the hospital, it’s a mix of different smells—cleaning fluid, old paper, and sometimes the food from the kitchen down the way. We have a few beds for people who need to stay over, and the windows look out onto the street where you can see the daily life of the town passing by. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the traffic picks up, but it feels like home to us. We handle all sorts of things, from small scrapes to people feeling under the weather. We don't have a fancy website or a big sign with flashing lights. People just know where No. 6 is. We spend our shift checking charts, talking to families, and making sure the floors are mopped before the next group of visitors arrives. It is a hard job but it keeps us busy and connected to the people here.
