Anbu Cabs

We operate out of Srirangam, right in the 620006 part of Trichy. Anbu Cabs isn't a huge fleet or anything like that. It’s just a few of us with our cars, trying to make a living by driving people where they need to go. Srirangam is a special place because of the temple, so we get a lot of visitors who don't know the way around. Most of my day is spent behind the wheel or sitting in the shade waiting for a call. I don't have a big office building. My car is basically my office. I keep a notebook on the passenger seat to write down bookings. Sometimes the heat in Trichy is so bad that the steering wheel feels like it’s on fire, but you just keep going. We don't have a marketing department or a fancy brand. We just have our names and our reputations among the people who live here. If someone needs to get to the airport or a nearby town, they call us. Sometimes the traffic near the temple is a nightmare and we get stuck for an hour, but that is just part of the job. I’ve been driving these streets for a long time and I know almost every shortcut by heart. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s honest work. We just try to be on time and get the driving done without too much fuss. Most days start early and end quite late.
