Akash Blue Metals

Akash Blue Metals is situated on Thuraiyur Road, right near the Bharath Times building. We have been here at 43/1 for quite some years. Our main thing is gravel and crushed stone. You will see the big piles of blue metal from the road. It is a loud place to work with all the crushing going on. The dust is everywhere, so we usually wear scarves over our faces. It is just part of the job. We have trucks coming in empty and leaving full all through the day. Sometimes the road gets a bit crowded. My family has been involved in this for a long time. We are not corporate people. We spend most of our time out in the sun or near the machines. When the rain comes, it gets muddy, but we keep the trucks moving as best as we can. We do not have a fancy showroom. Everything is out in the open. People come to us when they are building roads or houses nearby. We just give them a price and load them up. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We know the neighbors and the other shop owners along the road. It is a good community. We just stick to what we know, which is stone and grit. There is always something that needs crushing or moving around here.
