Aashiq Travels

Aashiq Travels sits in the basement of City Centre, down in Sundar Nagar. If you know the Metre Factory Road area in K K Nagar, you’ve probably walked right past us without noticing. Being in the basement means it’s a bit quieter than the main road, though you can still hear the heavy buses rolling by overhead. We’ve got a couple of desks set up with old computers and plenty of notebooks for keeping track of bookings. The walls are mostly bare except for a calendar and a few maps pinned up. It’s not a fancy office with leather chairs, just plastic ones for people to sit while we look up bus or train timings. Most of the day is spent on the phone or talking to people who drop in while they’re out doing errands on K K Nagar Main Road. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit by the door where there’s a little more light coming from the stairs. It’s a small operation, just a few of us making sure people get their tickets and know where they’re going. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the neighbors in the other basement shops are all friendly enough. We usually keep some tea around for when it gets slow in the mid-afternoon heat.
