Horizon Architects

Down here in Trichy, Horizon Architects has been operating from our spot near where M. Thangaraju’s family is. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't really go for those high-end office decorations because we’d rather focus on the drawing boards. Most of our work is around Tamil Nadu, helping people figure out how to put their houses together. We deal with a lot of heat issues in our designs because it gets so hot here. Sometimes we have to explain to folks why a certain window won't work where they want it. It's a lot of talking and sketching. We started this because we liked seeing how buildings are put together. Our address is easy to find if you know the area. The office is usually a bit noisy with the fans going and people talking over blueprints. We aren't a massive firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us who know the local terrain and the materials that last in this climate. We take our time with each drawing because mistakes on paper are easier to fix than mistakes in concrete. We usually have some coffee going and the table is always full of rolled-up charts. It’s a busy life, but it’s good to see a project finished. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes without making any big promises we can't keep. It's just a regular office for regular people in our city.
