You can find us at No. 67 Goundampalayam in the Kumaramangalam area. We operate a bio-energy facility here, and it’s a pretty large site compared to a normal office. Most of our day involves managing the intake of raw materials and checking on the processing units. It’s a rural setting, so there’s a lot of open space and fresh air, though the smell of the organic processing is always there. We have a lot of machinery that needs constant maintenance and monitoring. The guys working here are used to getting their hands dirty. We don't have a corporate dress code; people wear what’s practical for working around heavy equipment. We spend a lot of time talking to local farmers who provide us with the materials we need. The office part of the building is just a few rooms with old computers and stacks of logbooks. We track the energy output every hour to make sure everything is functioning right. It’s not the kind of job where you sit still for long. There’s always a pump to fix or a truck to unload. We’ve been in Kumaramangalam for years and most people in the village know us by now. It’s hard work, especially in the summer heat, but it’s a living. We just try to keep the plant running and make sure the energy keeps flowing like it’s supposed to. Every day brings a different challenge with the machines.
