About Dhanalakshmi Building Materials – Building & Construction Material in Tiptur
The yard is always a bit of a mess with the sand and bricks coming in and out every day. Being near the railway station at 971 Coronation Road means we hear the trains go by every hour. It shakes the ground a little bit but after a few months you stop noticing it altogether. We spend a lot of time outside in the sun. The trucks come in early, usually before the sun is even fully up, and we have to get them unloaded so the road doesn't get blocked. It is heavy work and our clothes are usually covered in some kind of dust by ten in the morning. We have a small cabin where we keep the books and take our lunch breaks. The tea stall down the road brings us cups twice a day, which is the best part of the afternoon. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the phone and the people who walk in because they saw the piles of materials from the street. Some of the guys have been lifting these bags for ten years now. Their hands are rough as sandpaper. We just keep going, day after day, making sure the orders are ready when the contractors show up with their tractors. It’s a simple life, really, just moving things from one place to another and making sure the counts are right at the end of the day.
