Tea Tokri

You can find Tea Tokri at Plot No. 517 on Shishu Vidyalaya Road in Sripuria. We’re quite close to the main road, so it’s easy to get to, though the school traffic in the mornings can be a bit much. This place is where we handle everything to do with our tea. It’s not a big factory; it’s more of a warehouse and office combined. The smell of tea leaves is everywhere, which is one of the best parts of working here. We spend a lot of time sorting through different batches and getting things ready for packing. The building itself is simple, with a small yard out front. We have a few people who help with the packing and a couple of us who handle the sales and accounts. It’s a very hands-on job. We don't have a fancy board of directors or anything like that. It’s just us trying to get good tea out to people who want it. We often have a pot of tea brewing in the back for anyone who stops by for a chat. It’s a quiet area mostly, except for when the kids are leaving the school nearby. We’ve been here for a while and the neighbors know us well. We don't do much advertising; most of our work comes from people just knowing we are here. It’s a slow and steady kind of life, and we are quite alright with that.
