P.R. Tea Private Limited

P.R. Tea Private Limited is located over in Khaliahmari, near the Sibosthan post office in Samaguri. We are listed under the care of Parimal Devnath, who is the son of Surender Debnath. This is a real family-style setup here in Nagaon. We have been involved with tea for a long time. Our location is quite rural, which is perfect for what we do. You can see the tea bushes not far from where we sit. The air always smells a bit like damp earth and fresh leaves. We don't have a big corporate office with air conditioning. We mostly work out of a simple building that has seen better days, but it is sturdy. We spend our time talking to the workers and making sure the tea is being handled the right way. It is a lot of physical labor and being outdoors. Sometimes the rain in Assam makes the roads muddy and hard to travel, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest tea company in the world. We just want to produce something that we can be proud of in our own community. People around Samaguri know who we are, and we like that local connection. It is a slow-paced life but there is always something to do on the farm. We just focus on the harvest and the daily tasks at hand.
