Interloom Weavers is located right on Rangagora Road. It’s an easy place to find once you’re on the main stretch. We’ve got our looms set up in a long building that gets a lot of natural light during the day. We focus on weaving fabrics, mostly sticking to the traditional ways of doing things. The place smells like raw cotton and old wood. It’s not a quiet place because the machines make a steady clicking noise that fills the room. We don’t have a big corporate structure. It’s just a few of us working the machines and checking the fabric for any mistakes. If we find a knot, we have to stop and fix it right then and there. The floor is mostly bare concrete, and we keep the yarn in big plastic bins along the walls. We don’t bother with a fancy website or social media much. Most of our customers are local shops or people who have been coming to us for years. We just keep our heads down and do the work. The weather can get quite humid here, which actually helps with the weaving sometimes. We’ve been on Rangagora Road for quite a while, and the neighbors are all used to the noise from our shop. It’s a steady life, just watching the cloth grow inch by inch on the looms. We aren't trying to change the world; we're just making sure the fabric is decent and the orders get out on time.
