Auguri Tea Industry

We are located out in Dum Duma, near P.O. Rupai in the Tinsukia district. This is real tea country. Unlike offices in the big cities, we are right where the tea grows. You can see the gardens from just down the road. Our work at Auguri Tea Industry is tied directly to the land. We spend our time between the office and the factory. It’s a lot of physical work, especially during the peak season when the leaves are coming in thick. The air here usually smells like drying tea leaves, which is something you never quite get used to, but it’s a good smell. We aren't a big, polished company. We’re local people doing local work. Our office is small and functional, mostly used for keeping track of the daily weights and the labor schedules. When it rains here, it really rains, and that changes everything for us. We have to be flexible. We don’t use fancy marketing because everyone around here knows what we do. We just focus on producing the best tea we can with what the season gives us. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, but it’s rewarding to see the tea being packed up and sent off. It’s a quiet life compared to the city, but it’s busy in its own way. We just keep at it every single day.
