Ambulance - Lions Club Of Green City

The Lions Club Of Green City manages an ambulance service based out of A T Road Ho. This service was put together by the club members who wanted to make sure there was a reliable way to get people to the hospital in an emergency. It’s a community-driven thing, so we don't operate like a big private company. The ambulance is parked over on A T Road, which is a main route, making it easier for us to get to different parts of the city quickly. We have a team of drivers who are on call at all times. They are local guys who know the streets and the traffic patterns well. The van is basic but it has what is needed for transport. We spend a lot of time on the upkeep of the vehicle because it’s the most important tool we have. The Lions Club members help out with the costs and the management of the whole thing. We don't have a fancy reception desk or any of that. It’s just a phone line and a driver ready to go. We’ve been doing this for several years now, and the ambulance has become a familiar sight for people living near A T Road. It’s hard work, especially when the calls come in the middle of the night, but it’s part of our commitment to Green City. We just keep the van ready and wait for the next person who needs a hand.
