Orchha Art & Craft

Our shop is right near the bus stand in Orchha, on the main Bus Stand Road. If you've ever been to this part of town, you know it gets pretty busy with people coming and going from the buses all day long. Orchha Art & Craft has been sitting in Ward Number 10 for a good bit now. We have all sorts of things that local people make by hand. It’s a dusty spot sometimes because of the road being so close, but we try to keep the items as clean as we can. We don't really do fancy displays or anything like you'd see in a big city mall. The things are just there on the shelves or on the floor for people to look at when they walk in. Mostly it’s just one or two of us working here during the day. We talk to the travelers who stop by while they are waiting for their ride to show up. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit crowded when a new shipment comes in from the makers in the countryside. We handle everything from pottery to small wood pieces and some textiles. It's nice to see what the people in the nearby villages are making lately. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just open the doors in the morning and see who comes by. The noise from the bus stand is something you get used to after a week or so of working here. It is just a regular local shop.
