Vijayamatha Ayurveda Hospital

If you get off at the Kinar Bus Stop in Cheroor, you’ll find us right there. We’ve been operating this Ayurveda hospital for quite some time now. It’s a bit different from the modern hospitals you see in the city. The air here usually smells like boiled herbs and various oils. We have rooms where people stay for a few days or weeks to go through their treatments. It’s a quiet place for the most part. The staff spends a lot of time preparing the oils and the different mixtures we use. We don't have high-tech monitors or loud machines. Instead, it’s a lot of manual work and traditional methods. The building is older, with some patches on the walls and fans that hum all day. We have a small garden where some of the plants we use are grown. Patients come here for all sorts of reasons, some with joint pain and others just feeling worn out. It’s a slow process, not something that’s finished in five minutes. We talk to the patients a lot about what they eat and how they sleep. The kitchen is always busy making specific meals. It’s not a luxury retreat; it’s just a place where we practice Ayurveda the way we were taught. People in the Cheroor area know us well. We just keep our heads down and do the work, helping whoever walks in from the bus stop.
