Vedakarnika Sanskriti Foundation

Our foundation is set up at Karappully House in Airoor, which is in the Kaipamangalam area. It is basically the family home where Pranav Prathap stays. We decided to run the Vedakarnika Sanskriti Foundation from here because it felt right for the kind of cultural work we do. It’s a traditional Kerala house with plenty of space for us to meet. We focus a lot on local culture and heritage, so being in a village like Airoor is perfect. You won't find any cubicles or water coolers here. We mostly sit on the veranda or in the main room and discuss what we need to do. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, though we do take the work seriously. Neighbors often stop by to see what’s going on, and sometimes they end up helping us out with small tasks. We don't have a big budget for fancy offices, and we’d rather spend that money on our programs anyway. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, but people who want to find us usually do. We keep things simple and honest. The foundation is just starting to grow, so there is a lot of learning as we go. It’s a peaceful place to work and keep our traditions alive for the next generation. Sometimes we just sit and drink coffee while we plan the next event. It’s not a fast-paced environment, but things get done eventually.
