Sun Foods is located in Edakkunni, which is part of the Ollur area. We’ve been operating from this spot for a long time. It’s a simple setup where we handle various food items. There is a lot of space for storage because that's what we need most. We spend our mornings checking the quality of what comes in from the local suppliers. If something doesn't look right, we don't take it. It’s a straightforward way of doing things. The workers here are mostly from the nearby villages. We all know each other well. There is no dress code or big meetings. We just gather around in the morning, decide what needs to be packed, and get to it. The floor is concrete and we keep it as clean as we can. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we start early to beat the heat. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. Children playing or birds in the trees outside. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to make sure the food we handle is moved properly to the markets. People around Ollur know where we are if they need anything. It’s just a small local food business doing its thing every day without any fuss. The work is physical and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We take our Sundays off to rest and be with family.
