We’re located in the K F R I Quarters, specifically Type 3 12, out by Orappan Para in Peechi. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you’re coming from the center of Thrissur. The area is quite green because of the forest research institute nearby. Our foundation shares a bit of that quiet atmosphere. The office is basically just a few rooms in the quarters. We have some wooden chairs and a couple of computers that have been around for a few years. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. Most of our day is spent reading through reports or talking about local development. It’s a lot of talk about things like water or helping the local farms. We aren't a big corporation. We’re just a small group of people who care about the environment here in Kerala. Sometimes the monkeys from the woods come near the windows, which can be a bit of a distraction. We just keep our heads down and do the tasks. There’s always more work than time, it seems. We try to keep things organized, even if the filing cabinets are getting a bit full. It’s an honest day’s work for us. We don't need a lot of praise. We just do what we can. The morning fog can be quite thick sometimes, making the drive in feel like a different world. We are just trying to do our bit.
