Sri Departmental Store

We've been here on Thana Road for quite a while now. Sri Departmental Store started because we saw folks around Kannukara needed a place to grab their groceries without having to trek too far into the main city traffic. It's just a regular shop at 56/89. My cousin and I mostly handle the shelves and the billing. We keep the usual things people ask for, like rice, different types of lentils, and those snacks the kids always want after school. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home, so the aisles can feel a little tight. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days, some boxes might be sitting out longer than they should. It isn’t a fancy supermarket with bright neon lights. It’s more of a place where you can just walk in, find what you need, and maybe chat for a minute if the line isn't too long. We’ve known most of our customers for years. They come by for milk in the morning or bread when they run out. If we don’t have something specific you’re looking for, just let one of us know and we might be able to get it in the next stock delivery. Managing a shop like this takes a lot of time and sometimes we’re tired, but being part of this neighborhood makes it worth it. We just do our work and hope people find what they need.
