Started the day early here in Thrissur Town. The shutters go up around nine usually, unless the traffic is bad. Sion Pharma has been sitting in this spot for a while now. It’s a busy part of the town, always someone honking outside or people rushing to the bus stop near the corner. Inside, it’s mostly quiet except for the hum of the fan and the sound of medicine strips clicking against each other when we move them. We spend a lot of time just sorting through boxes. Yesterday the delivery was late because of the rain, so we were still stacking shelves late into the evening. That’s just how it goes here in Thrissur. There’s a tea shop just down the road where we get our snacks most afternoons. Most people who stop by are just regulars from the neighborhood. We don’t have fancy displays or anything. Just the usual shelves filled with whatever people need. Sometimes the computer acts up and we have to do things by hand, which takes a bit longer than we’d like. The weather can get really hot in the afternoons, so we keep the door halfway shut to stay cool. It’s not a big operation, just a few of us making sure things are in order. We know the regular faces and what they usually come in for. It’s a plain place, really. We just keep the lights on and wait for the next person to walk through the door.
