Shveda Foundation

Our small office for the Shveda Foundation is on the first floor of Anna Residency. It’s on the Government Hospital Road in Chalakudy. Being near the hospital means there’s always people moving around outside. We’ve been here for a bit now, working out of this space. It’s not very big, just a few rooms where we keep our files and meet. We do a bit of everything that involves helping the local community. It’s a bit noisy with the traffic going to the hospital, but we like being in the middle of things. We aren't some distant organization. Most of us live right here in Chalakudy. We know the people and we know the problems they face. Sometimes we have meetings that go late into the night. We don't have a fancy sign, just the address HSE19/411. We do our work without making a big fuss. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk over tea. Other days we are running around trying to get things sorted for folks who need help. It’s just how it goes here. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We’re just a group of locals trying to make a small difference where we can. It’s a bit cramped in the office, but it works for us. We don't have much, but we have enough to stay active in the town. Sometimes folks just drop in to say hello.
