Nilayoram Resorts & Ayurvedic Centre

The center is tucked away in Painkulam, right near Cheruthuruthy. Most of us who work here live in the village nearby, so we just walk or bike in. The river is close, so there is usually a breeze through the trees, which helps when the Kerala sun gets too hot. We have a few rooms and the space where the ayurvedic treatments happen. It isn't a massive place with hundreds of people, just a handful of staff trying to keep things tidy and running. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors and prepping the treatment rooms with fresh linens. Sometimes the supply truck is late with the oils, and we have to scramble a bit. It’s a bit of a trek to get here from the main town, but that is why it stays quiet. We keep a small garden and try to make sure the guests have what they need without hovering over them. The buildings are built in the old style, so they stay fairly cool. We don't use much fancy tech here. Mostly just hands-on work and talking to the people who stay with us. It’s a lot of manual labor, washing towels and making tea. But we like the routine. The nights are very dark and you can hear the frogs near the water. It’s just how things are at Nilayoram. We don't have a big corporate plan, we just want to keep the place going for the visitors.
