Nabco Contracting

Nabco Contracting is run out of Valiyakath House in Orumanayoor. That is in the Thrissur district of Kerala, a place where everyone knows everyone else. The business is basically part of the family home. You can find us near the Williams area. Since we are in India, things can get pretty humid, so the office usually has the windows wide open to catch a breeze. We do a lot of local contracting work. It’s mostly about getting the right people for the right jobs. We have a lot of tools stacked up in the back and there is always a truck parked out front. It’s not a corporate headquarters by any means. It’s a place where we sit down with a cup of coffee and figure out how to finish a roof or lay down some pipes. The walls are covered in old calendars and some sketches of buildings we have worked on. We deal with local suppliers and workers who have been with us for years. Sometimes the monsoon rains slow us down, but that’s just life in Kerala. We don't use fancy software; a pen and a notebook usually do the trick for us. People come to the house when they need something built or fixed. It’s a straightforward way of doing business without any of the extra fluff you see in the cities. We just keep at it and hope the weather stays clear enough to work.
