We are located at P.B. No. 22 in Kodungallur Post. This hospital has been standing here for a good while now. Every morning, the staff starts trickling in around eight. Some of us live nearby and walk, while others take the local bus that stops down the road. It’s a pretty standard building with white walls that we try to keep clean, though the humidity here makes it a constant job. We have a small reception area where the fans are always humming to keep the air moving. You’ll usually see a few families sitting on the wooden benches waiting their turn. We don’t have any fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s just a place where people come when they aren't feeling well. We spend our days filling out charts, talking to patients, and making sure the medicine cabinets are stocked up. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of life here. The floors are a bit scuffed from years of people walking back and forth, but it’s a solid place. We know most of the people who come through the doors by their first names. It’s not a corporate office; it’s just a hospital where we work hard and go home to our families at the end of the day. That is pretty much the long and short of it for us at Modern Hospital.
