We are tucked away inside Pudukad, working on wood and making cabinets most days. Modern Cabinets is basically a workshop where we spend our time measuring, cutting, and putting things together. It gets pretty dusty in here, but that’s just how it goes when you’re working with timber and saws all day long. We’ve been in Pudukad for quite some time now, and most people around here know where we are if they need something built for their home. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights and sales people in suits. Usually, you’ll find us in the back with a pencil behind our ear and sawdust on our clothes. Making cabinets is one of those things that takes a lot of patience. If you rush it, the doors don't hang right or the corners look messy, and nobody wants that in their house. We try to take our time and do it properly the first time around. It’s satisfying to see a pile of raw wood turn into something useful for someone’s kitchen or bedroom. We don't use a lot of big automated machines; a lot of it is still done by hand with basic tools. It’s a small operation, just a few of us who know the trade well. Pudukad is a good spot for us because it’s easy for folks to drop by and talk about what they need. We just listen, take some notes, and get to work. It’s straightforward work that keeps us busy.
