Meghdoot Imports & Exports

We are set up in the Voltas Compound over on Venkitaraman Road. Being on Willington Island means we are close to the docks, which is where most of our work happens. The air always smells a bit like the sea and diesel from the big ships. Our office is inside the compound, and it is a pretty plain space. We deal with imports and exports, so there is a lot of talk about containers and shipping schedules. It can get quite humid here, and the old building does not always stay as cool as we would like. We have a few desks and a lot of maps and schedules pinned to the walls. Most of the time, we are busy tracking where things are coming from or where they need to go next. It is not the kind of place you would come for a fancy meeting, but it works for what we do. We have got a small crew, and we have all been doing this long enough that we do not need much instruction. Sometimes things get delayed at the port, and we have to spend hours sorting it out. We just take it as it comes. On slow afternoons, we sit by the door and watch the trucks go by. It is a practical business, focusing on getting goods from one point to another without too much fuss. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day.
