Mahanagar Gas Ltd, Mumbai

Mahanagar Gas Ltd, Mumbai is the name on the papers but we are actually located at Alappadan House in Thrissur, Kerala. It is a bit of a distance from Mumbai, but this is where the office is set up. The area here is 680271 and things are generally slower than the big city. We handle a lot of the gas-related paperwork and coordination from this house. It is a regular building, nothing that looks like a big corporate tower. Most of the time, the humidity is high and we are just trying to keep the files in order and answer the calls that come in. It is mostly admin work, I guess. We do not have a big staff, just a couple of people usually around to keep things running. The neighborhood is quiet enough. We spend the day checking schedules and making sure the information for the gas services gets where it needs to go. Sometimes it gets a bit confusing with the Mumbai name while being in Thrissur, but we have gotten used to explaining that to people. The Alappadan House is just a practical place to work from. There is a lot of green outside, which is nice when you need a break from looking at the computer screen. We just do our bit every day and try not to let the paperwork pile up too high. It is a simple setup for a big-sounding name.
