M P Qatar Trading Company

We run M P Qatar Trading Company out of the Edakkalathur House in Parappur. It’s right there in Trichur. Trading is what we do, mostly coordinating things between here and elsewhere. It’s a family-style setup, honestly. The house we work from has been around for a bit, and it feels more like a home than a sterile office. We deal with various goods and the paperwork that goes along with shipping and orders. Trichur is a place where everyone knows everyone, especially in Parappur. You’ll see us talking to vendors or checking on stock throughout the day. We don't have any shiny signs or a front desk with a receptionist. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just answers it. The rooms are filled with files and sometimes samples of what we are trading at the moment. It gets humid here, so the fans are always running. We try to keep track of the markets and prices, which keeps us pretty occupied from Monday to Saturday. Sunday is when the whole place finally goes quiet. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to keep the business moving and the orders filled on time. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other days it is just us drinking tea and catching up on the ledgers. It is a simple life and a simple way of doing business. It works for us and the people we trade with.
